Within it’s boundaries, Ardgour Estate holds two complete river systems, enabling the careful management of the wild fish population alongside giving anglers the opportunity to experience a vast array of different fishing spots.
The river Gour, which runs from the granite foothills at the head of Glen Gour 12 miles down to Salachan bay on Loch Linnhe, provides anglers a wide variety of fishing experiences including; wide, shallow pools – at the lower end of the river, upstream – a lochan with a boat for use, to further upriver – where the narrow channels become deeper and the scenery more rugged.
The river is teeming with Brown Trout and at the river mouth Sea Trout are a common catch.
In recent years, salmon have been caught in ever increasing numbers.
Permits for fishing on the River Gour are available during the season and can be purchased from Ardgour Stores or can be booked online contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fishing rods are also available to hire at the store.
