Skiing In Scotland

It never ceases to amaze me as to what is on the door step – right here in Ardgour! Winter Sports – on Britain’s Highest Mountain!

This season we have been truly spoiled! Great snow, great sunshine – something you cannot always guarantee in Scotland. Our visits to Nevis Range for a spot of skiing have been as good as any we can remember. Perfect conditions and lots of high quality winter sports fun was had!

From Ardgour it can be a leisurely start, getting up around 7:30am in order make the 8.20am Corran Ferry, ensuring you arrive in the car park before 9am, plenty of time for a coffee from the Pinemarten café. Of course on weekdays you almost have the place to yourself so can arrive much later and still enjoy great skiing!

Nevis Range has a hire equipment shop, (during busy periods you can even collect it the night before!) And of course a great ski/snowboard school if you fancy a lesson to get you started!

If you are already competent skier or snowboarder then head up to the chairlift to get some height on the mountain and enjoy some lovely runs and spectacular views from the Summit!

Lunch is a very casual affair, with hot food and a Bar! Who doesn’t love a bit of après-ski? The staff at Nevis range are extremely friendly and helpful, it makes it a great place to spend the day!

It is a short drive home back to Ardgour, In the winter months 4.30/5pm is the perfect time to catch the sunset from the Corran Ferry. Then lucky guests staying in Cuil Moss Cottage  can enjoy the jacuzzi bath, luxury Highland Soap co Bubble bath and put on a robe and slippers! Perfect way to end a day in the Scottish Hills!
